AVENUE is the leading provider of Family Mediation, Relationship Counselling and Child Contact Services in the Northeast. We work with everyone from children to grandparents, supporting couples and families through times of change, difficulties and conflict.
This is a unique opportunity to provide specialist intervention to help children age 10 to 18 years gain insight and understanding of their experiences, increasing emotional resilience and coping strategies while decreasing problematic behaviours and internalised conflicts. You would also be offering therapy to support children to find healthier ways of communication, develop fulfilling relationships and facilitate emotional literacy.
We are looking for someone who has strong observation and listening skills. You must have emotional resilience and self-awareness whilst demonstrating an understanding of the importance and scope of confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also essential.
You must be a registered member of COSCA or the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold a recognised Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People which has included clinical practice. A proven record of working with young people is also a must.
You must provide your own supervision and CPD and evidence this annually along with membership of professional body.
